Coaches Collaborative Meeting
November 19th | 5:00 – 6:00 PM
Email alison@healthylamoillevalley.org for the Zoom link
As we head into the between-season stretch, we invite all coaches to join us for a chance to connect, reflect, and look ahead. Whether you’ve used the Healthy Lamoille Valley Coaches Handbook before or this will be your first look, this session is for you! Join us November 19th to learn, share, and collaborate!
We’ll review the handbook together, explore how it can support you and your teams, and talk about ways to make it even better. Already tried it? Bring your stories and suggestions. New to it? Come discover practical tools and ideas you can use.
Printed copies are available, and you can also download or access the handbook online. Your voice matters – help us shape this resource for the entire Lamoille Valley coaching community.
Highlighted Resources
We want to highlight the Huddle Up Program, a series of weekly topics that help coaches spark meaningful conversations with their teams around well-being, bonding, healthy choices, and community engagement. Check out the Healthy Lamoille Valley Huddle Up Program Handout for more information.
Because the care for athletes doesn’t stop when the season ends, we’re sharing simple post-season steps to support players (also found in our Coaches Handbook):
- Reflect on your own about the season
- Check in with players emotionally and socially
- Keep connections alive through casual meetups or group chats
- Reflect together on growth, challenges, and pride
- Celebrate effort and progress, not just wins
- Support transitions for kids who struggle when the season ends
- Partner with families and communities to keep youth supported year-round
- And of course—get together with other coaches!
How can you help set the tone at local games, tournaments? Encourage the use of a Standard Pregame Sportsmanship & Inclusion Statement included in the Coaches Handbook. to help set a positive tone for every game, tournament, or youth sports event. It’s a simple way to reinforce respect, fairness, and inclusion for all players, families, and spectators.
