May is Youth Appreciation Month (YAM) in Vermont, an annual celebration of youth of all ages and all that they contribute to our communities! We appreciate our youth coalition members and all their contributions to supporting youth substance use prevention in their schools and communities!

Certificates of appreciation were presented at our May Celebration to:

  • the Hyde Park Elementary House Captains for building connections for students and families, serving the community, and creating multi-grade informal mentorship opportunities.
  • Peoples Academy Middle and High School OVX (Our Voices Exposed) and Getting to Y groups for their projects which include a Vape Awareness Poster Contest, Prom Kits, the PSA “What’s in that Vape?”, and co-sponsoring the 2025 Morristown cigarette waste clean up.
  • Green Mountain Tech Allied Health – Mental Health students for their Social Media Project, creating the PSA “What to do instead of Vape,” Vape Quit Kits, and providing help with messaging campaigns for students.
  • Green Mountain Tech – Creative Media Program students for creating a PSA highlighting how students can seek help in quitting.

All PSAs will continue to run at the Bijou through the end of May. You can watch them here!
