Each year Healthy Lamoille Valley honors individuals and groups that have made significant contributions in time and effort to supporting a healthy Lamoille Valley community and working towards the reduction of youth substance misuse. We were thrilled to present awards to three strong community partners this year at our May Prevention Celebration!
The Lamoille County Planning Commission received HLV’s Michelle Salvador Prevention Award for sustained community change and collaboration towards prevention, equity, community health and wellness in our region.
Hyde Park Village and Town Planning Commissions were our Municipal All Stars for their work on creating a new stand-alone wellness chapter in the town plan which includes a strong focus on youth substance misuse prevention, treatment, recovery, mental health, and aging in place—and now stands as a model for other communities in the Lamoille Valley.
The Bijou Theatre received our New Business Partner award for co-hosting a film screening with HLV and running PSAs created by local student groups with HLV’s support to increase awareness about the dangers of vaping and other nicotine alternatives.
