Prescription Drug Safety

Keep prescription drugs out of reach of kids and teens or use a lock box or bag to prevent misuse which can harm their health and developing brains. We now have RX Detera pouches for destroying unwanted medicines for disposing of medications when you can’t make it to a drop off site or use a mailback envelope, they can even be used for liquid medications. These are also available at the Lamoille Family Center or by contacting jessica@healthylamoillevalley.org. Please call Lamoille Family Center at (802) 888-5229 to confirm availability and arrange pickup in the Family Center lobby, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.

You can request a free mail back envelope from the Vermont Department of Health or pick one up at your local doctor’s office. The Jeudevine Library in Hardwick also has envelopes available.
